Combined Events app
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 September 2026
Combined Events (“the App”) is a mobile app provided by Cedric Dubler (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Australia. This policy explains how the App handles information. It applies only to the Combined Events mobile app, not to the combinedevents.app website or any other product.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up. You don’t give us your name, email, or a password.
- Everything happens on your device. Scores are calculated on your phone, and what you enter is stored there.
- If you use iCloud, your own devices share what you enter through your own Apple account. It never passes through us.
- The App has no server of its own. Nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else.
- No ads, no third-party analytics, no trackers. We never sell your data, because we never receive it.
- “Erase all data” in the App’s menu deletes everything, on the device and in iCloud.
1. No accounts
The App works without any sign-up. We don’t ask for or hold names, email addresses, phone numbers, or passwords.
2. Information stored on your device
What you enter in the App — your marks, targets, goals, personal bests, saved competitions, the athletes you set up, and your settings — is stored on your device using the device’s standard app storage.
You can delete all of it at any time using “Erase all data” in the App’s menu, or by uninstalling the App.
3. iCloud
If you are signed in to iCloud and iCloud is enabled for the App, what you enter is copied to your own iCloud account so it appears on your other devices. This uses Apple’s iCloud storage, under your Apple account and Apple’s privacy policy.
That copy travels between your devices and Apple. It does not pass through us. We have no access to it and no way to read it.
The copy only happens while you are signed in to iCloud with iCloud Drive turned on. Signing out of iCloud, or turning iCloud Drive off in the iOS Settings app, stops it, and what is already on the device is left alone. “Erase all data” in the App deletes what is on the device and removes the iCloud copy.
4. Nothing is sent to us
The App has no backend of its own. It does not send what you enter to us, and we receive no information about you or your use of the App. Scores are calculated entirely on your device, using the World Athletics combined events scoring tables bundled with the App.
The only network activity is a periodic check for app updates, described below.
5. Third-party services
A small number of services are involved in delivering the App itself:
- Apple App Store: distributes the App and handles installation under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy.
- Apple iCloud: if you use it, holds your copy of your own data under your Apple account, as described above.
- Expo / Expo Application Services: delivers app updates; your device contacts Expo’s servers to check for one. Like every internet request, these checks include standard technical details such as your device’s IP address. We don’t receive or use this information.
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.
6. What we don’t do
- We don’t show advertisements.
- We don’t use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we don’t track you across apps or websites.
- We don’t collect, sell, rent, or trade your information. We simply never receive it.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. As the App requires no account and keeps what you enter on your own device and in your own iCloud account, no personal information is collected by us.
8. Your choices and rights
Because what you enter stays with you and we hold no data about you, you remain in control:
- Delete everything with “Erase all data” in the App, or by uninstalling it.
- Stop the iCloud copy at any time by signing out of iCloud, or by turning iCloud Drive off in the iOS Settings app.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR, or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information. Since we hold no record of you, there is nothing for us to retrieve.
You can still contact us with any request.
9. Security
What you enter stays on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own Apple account. We keep no copy, so there is no server of ours to breach. App-update checks and iCloud both use encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but a design with no accounts and no collection keeps your exposure as low as it can practically be.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be reflected here.
